TGIN Winter Hair Care Tip — Don’t Overwash Your Hair

Wash away your winter woes, but be mindful of washing your hair. If you usually wash your hair once a week, try stretching it out a few extra days or going every two weeks. Also, this should go without saying, but be sure to condition each time you wash your hair. I recommend trying Elucence’s Moisture Benefits Shampoo available at Curl Mart. This product normalizes the hair, scalp and PH balance while keeping your hair looking healthy and shiny. Try conditioning with Mizani’s Moisture Fuse to restore moisture and smoothing the shaft of the hair while helping to combat winter static electricity.
No-pooing (or co-washes) are also a good look this time of year since many shampoos contain harsh sulfates that can strip the hair of its natural oils. Finally, avoid rinsing with hot water— lukewarm water is best—and be sure to end by rinsing you hair with cold water to lock in the moisture.
